  • Why is the current Microsoft Certified Database Administrator certification identified as MCDBA on Microsoft SQL Server 2000? Why isn’t it called MCDBA on Windows 2000?
The MCDBA certification version is based on the database server represented by its core exams—Microsoft SQL Server—not the operating system on which it runs. The current MCDBA certification version is named for Microsoft SQL Server 2000-based systems, which include Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.
