Requirements of the Certification

 

Now is the time to validate your developer skills with the Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) for Microsoft .NET credential.   • How is the Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) for Microsoft .NET credential different from the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for Microsoft .NET certification?
    The MCAD for Microsoft .NET credential is appropriate for professionals who use Microsoft technologies to develop and maintain department-level applications, components, Web or desktop clients, or back-end data services or work in teams developing enterprise applications.

    MCSDs for Microsoft .NET are lead developers who design and develop leading-edge enterprise solutions with Microsoft development tools, technologies, platforms, and the Microsoft .NET Framework.

  • Do I have to use exams in the same programming language to complete my MCAD?
    No, you do not have to complete your MCAD credential using exams in the same programming language. The content of the exams focuses on building Web- or Windows-based applications or Web services.
    Different programming languages can be used to accomplish the same task. Therefore, Microsoft offers the Microsoft .NET developer exams in various languages to give candidates the opportunity to select the language or languages they prefer when creating the corresponding type of application or Web service.
