How is the Microsoft Certified Application Developer
(MCAD) for Microsoft .NET credential different from
the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD)
for Microsoft .NET certification?
The MCAD
for Microsoft .NET credential is appropriate for professionals who use
Microsoft technologies to develop and maintain department-level
applications, components, Web or desktop clients, or back-end data
services or work in teams developing enterprise applications.
MCSDs for Microsoft .NET are lead developers who design and develop
leading-edge enterprise solutions with Microsoft development tools,
technologies, platforms, and the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Do I have to use exams in the same programming
language to complete my MCAD?
No, you do not have to complete your MCAD credential using exams in
the same programming language. The content of the exams focuses on
building Web- or Windows-based applications or Web services.
Different programming languages can be used to
accomplish the same task. Therefore, Microsoft offers the Microsoft .NET
developer exams in various languages to give candidates the opportunity
to select the language or languages they prefer when creating the
corresponding type of application or Web service.
